I hated it at first, then I hated others for liking it, then I eventually ended up liking it myself.
After hearing that it was supposedly designed to look like a gen 1 Pokemon, I kinda saw and warmed up to it.
I wanna get one in Go but refuse to buy Let's Go, so.

It's not a bad mon, though I personally prefer Meltan though.

But with that being said I also dislike them both because of the cheap cashgrab trick behind obtaining it is to simply buy a 60 dollar game and grind Meltan weekly, which sucks because it'll make availability behind a fucking paywall.

Design is quite nice, but it does look a bit too similar to the Regis.
The mechanics behind getting it are revolting and make Gen IV Munchlax look like a piece of piss. Even the local GOfags aren't pleased.

Once you're done with this questline, do you get a free Meltan? Do they start spawning after that or?

Just like they nerfed Magikarp and Swablu's candy requirements, right? Rare Candies are your friends there lad, but there won't be a nerf, Niantic learned that players will still play the grind regardless.

My issue with it is now we have evolving fucking mythicals.
I know Manaphy and Phione were kind of the first to do something similarly crazy, but you can't evolve a Phione. You can only breed for more Phione, but if you want Manaphy, you have to wait for a distribution event.

Would be OK if they did not market it as the "152nd Gen I Pokemon". It doesn't fit at all. It looks like a gen 6 or 7 mon. Being extremely generous, I could see it fitting into gen 3 or 4, but that's pushing it.

Meltan is the one they're talking about, not Melmetal when it comes to looking like a gen 1 Pokemon and you can agree with that to an extent since it's so simple. The shininess and plug in the back is what makes it more modern in my eyes though.

I really love the floating eyeball Meltan and Melmetal have going on, but otherwise dislike Meltan and feel neutral towards Melmetal. I saw an edit on /vp/ that made the black hex nuts gold and I think it looked way better. I also think it should've kept the more slime monster-like lower half rather than become yet another biped. Or it could've just started levitating or moved around on wheels made of hex nuts. I also don't get why the hex nut head started sinking into its body.

But overall I'm a sucker for golems and mechs so it ends up being alright in my book. Better than Zygarde Complete in my opinion.
