Physical attacks are the high risk/high reward type. Typically higher BP/accuracy on their big moves, with more drawbacks and contact risks. See: Close Combat, Flare Blitz, Outrage, Hi Jump Kick. Special attacks are safer, but usually come with lower BP, lower accuracy, or can't be effectively spammed. See: BoltBeam, Focus Miss, Draco Meteor.

Same poster. I'll also add that boosting physical attack is a good deal easier than special. Swords Dance is a TM, while Nasty Plot isn't. That's certainly by design, not accident. Really, there's a reason that despite all the hazards physical attackers have to deal with, sweepers have a tendency to lean toward the physical. It's the more effective stat for big fucking damage.

I'll just give a list of counters to the things OP listed cause i feel like it
>getting burned
water veil
>rocky helmet
not all physical moves are contact moves, earthquake and rock slide are some, but you could use knock off
>iron barbs
skill swap, worry seed, or entrainment to replace ability
>baneful bunker
poison type Pokemon, Immunity ability, or if you physical attacker has a status move just use the status move on the turn you predict it will use baneful bunker, however the only Pokemon with this move is Toxapex so i'd say it's just best to use something like shadow tag Gothitelle with taunt (assuming you're doing anything goes)
>intimidate
clear body, defiant, hyper cutter

Calm mind is also slow as shit compared to Nasty Plot. Barely anyone runs calm mind nowadays because it’s just so goddamn slow, and barely anyone has ever run Bulk Up because swords dance is widely available. I guarantee anyone using calm mind right now would be using Nasty Plot if it were given the same availability.

I'm not so sure about that. The SpDef boost is very significant and most Pokemon that abuse Calm Mind will run max physical bulk and a recovery move, turning them into a tank. Calm Mind is pretty useless in Doubles though, true.

Foul Play is actually less powerful than it could be because it's a physical move, imagine if it were special but used the opponent's attacking stat for calculation.

Yes it is pokemon dependant. Not everything is Mega Latias that can take hits from things with reliable recovery.

Except that's wrong besides stone edge and earthquake compared to earth power and power gem

Most of the time the vanilla elemental physical attack is 80 (seed bomb, poison jab, x scissor, zen headbutt, dragon claw, iron head, waterfall?, etc)

While the vanilla elemental special attacks are 90 (ice beam, flame thrower, sludge bomb, bug buzz, psychic, etc)

Physical attacks are stronger. In Gen 6 they actually slightly weakened all special moves to accomdate for this better too, 120 power special moves became 110 power, 95 power special moves became 90 power, etc.

Only Metagross and diancie uses clear body and they have no alternative at all outside of mega. Regice and Klinklang is stuck with it.

Every hyper cutter carrier has a way better ability to abuse/use

It's not a bad move on something with decent bulk but any fast sweeper will prefer Nasty Plot over Calm Mind and will only use the latter if the former isn't available. For a sweeper, the only thing better than a +2 boost in power is a +1/+1 boost in power and speed, like with Dragon Dance - another thing relatively common for physical sweepers but not special, as Quiver Dance is only on a handful of Pokémon.

Bulk Up sets are popular because many Pokémon that abuse it are pretty slow to begin with, often have Guts so that they don't need to worry about status ailments being inflicted on their setup time, and because it protects against most priority moves (which are usually physical).

The go-to moves for Physical Grass-types should never be fucking Seed Bomb. At worst, it's Bullet Seed or Leaf Blade, but usually Power Whip or Wood Hammer. Special Grasses typically run Giga Drain, Energy Ball can't compete.
Poison-types tend to go for Gunk Shot if they can.
Bug-types never run X-Scissor. Leech Life, Megahorn, Pin Missile, Technician Bug Bite, or good old U-Turn are all preferred.
Psychic is (or at least should be) Special Attacks: The Type so who gives a fuck?
Outrage, you coward
Iron Head isn't any weaker than Flash Cannon, the only Special Steel move worth running on anything. Even then, Steel-types get Gyro Ball and Heavy Slam to work with in most cases.
Waterfall is old and busted, Liquidation is the new hotness. Still weaker than Surf/Hydro Pump tho.
