The additional areas late game/post game but yeah, those are good, but the pokedex variety sucks, the gen 2/gen 3 mon are irrelevant because you already have your full team when you get a chance to capture the others, while the Kanto zones have waaaay more variety in Let's Go, same for trainer's mons you fight.
Honestly, see a few Johto mons in the postgame and the islands are the only thing FRLG has above Let's Go (well and abilities, but that's not even that relevant in Kanto, gimmick mons with gimmick abilities are more from other generations, you barely notice them in frlg)
