Should Pokemon core series games go back to 2.5D graphics and sprites or is the jump to all 3D graphics the point of no return?

Why would you ever want sprites? I agree that the 3D models could use some work and I hope they get better as time goes on but going back is stupid as hell. Not to mention, Sprites were very hit or miss as well. People only point out the good ones, they don't point out the shitty ones.
