Not in English it doesn't. Probably one of the few sounds /ou/ DOESN'T make in english.
They should've just localized the name as Raiko if that's how they wanted it pronounced. Until then I'm going to continue pronouncing it as Raikow

How so? There's no Lucario in The Power of Us, or Smash, or Pokken, and neither the anime or USUM really pair them in any way.

If you mean fanart then yeah, they are paired often a lot.

It's Japanese, as is Zeraora.
The English names HAVE no official pronunciation, which is why it randomly changes all the time between products because the voice actors just pronounce it however the fuck they think it should be pronounced.

Pretty much, all japs have specific romanization. Also I believe all legendaries except for very few (Lunaala is the one that comes to my mind) have the same romanization in English too. It's why despite being pronounced as Rekuuza it's still spelled as Rayquaza.

"Lunaala" was meant to be the worldwide spelling, but they changed it to Lunala after TPCi or NoA or someone pointed out it looked weird. It's never been used on any products. The only actual outlier is "Houou". The western "Ho-oh" spelling has never been a thing in Japan, and I'm sure GF aren't very fond of it considering they prefer keeping the spellings the same.

if i recall you HAD to have an event celebi to get the fucking thing
vs in gen 4 the dude that gave it to you riolu egg that you got through normal play, and was availible to EVERYONE
heck, even in BW2 it was out of the way technically.
it wasn't until USUM where you have the best case for getting one widely available for main story.
they fucked up trying to make him a super special pokemon but because of it made it a hole in the pokedex people sometimes couldn't get.

There's the whole "muh tradition" thing, but Mew was around in a time before the internet was very prevalent, and so all the rumors of a mysterious 151st pokemon were actually cool at the time. But it's stopped being interesting a long fucking time ago. Especially when they keep increasing the number of event-only pokemon. If it was just a single mew-equivalent, that'd be one thing, but we're at like event-only mons per gen now, ffs. And there's no mystery to it. They keep trying to recreate the cool aspect of Mew in Gen1 but it doesn't work like that anymore.
