I'm honestly confused at how vp is confused about the fact that people are enjoying Pokemon LGPE despite it being a heavily flawed game.

The reason is very obvious. It's Pokemon. And Pokemon is always comfy and joyful. It's nice to just sit back after a hard day of work in this shit world and enjoy a more serene experience.

Gen 4 and it's Mystery Dungeon counterpart had the best soundtracks imo, they were so relaxing.

This image reminds me, I once had this amazing wallpaper saved of a pokemon swamp, I remember there were plenty of fishmon and a swampert swimming underwater, the main ambient colors were a mossy green and brown. Words cannot describre how happy I'd be to find it again.

Honestly, what a cozy game in general. It just has SO MUCH to it, y'know? Wish they'd make another one with that much love in it. Gates was horrible and I really didn't care for Super.

Just realised Explorers, Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess all came out within a couple of years of each other and all had god-tier soundtracks. Hell Brawl was only a year later and that (the campaign and soundtrack parts at least) was great too.
Nintendo were really on a roll at that point, wonder what happened.

The main series should really learn from Explorers. Huge cast of colourful characters, the grandness of the adventure, a story with actual stakes. If you write an actual story with real heart behind it it's far more memorable than just throwing LOOK BIGGER LEGENDARY at us every couple of years, but it's also more effort so we'll never see it from GF.

how is the game flawed? I'm not doubting it is, but for my single playthrough, I didnt experience any glaring weakness.
the longevity is very lacking, but that single playthrough was a lot of fun, more so than my red, yellow and fire red playthrough
