When do you expect the Gen 8 to be announced?

I’m hoping for late January, but I’m expecting around mid-February. I just hope that when it is announced, they show us something, because I do not want another drought like SM had up until May. It was unbearable on this board with the constant fake leaks.

April/May - not expecting it any earlier as it's already been announced for a late 2019 launch, they won't start talking about it until Nintendo lets them start showing off information (which is usually 6 months from release).

I’m a he, btw. With both XY and SM, the games were announced 9 months in advance. An announcement within the first quarter of the year is likely. Whether we will actually get info or not is the true question.

realistically around February is my guess for when we'll start seeing gen 8 related stuff pop up. I don't think we'll actually get gameplay or anything till later on but in terms of new mythical, potential new forms in the upcoming movie, rumors, leaks etc? Deff earlier in the year

With XY and SM, we didn't know they were planning to release them until they announced them, with Gen VIII, we KNOW it's releasing next year, they don't need to run a direct to say "hey we've a new game releasing later in the year, more details in May!" (which is what would happen regardless of when it got announced - especially since Pokémon will now get treated like any other game releasing on Nintendo's home consoles)

I don't care how late it's revealed in 2019, all I want is for Gen 8 to not be a total trainwreck like the last two generations. Pic related is quite literally and unironically the freshest thing that has happened since B/W 2.

Nah, but if it was a manchild neckbeard nerd like myself, they'd know not to expect a direct so early next year. I mean, you can ignore the facts all you want, but it still doesn't change the fact they've already pre-announced the game for its 2019 release. Which means they don't have to re-announce it with an early direct (again, Nintendo won't consider talking about it until May and Masuda already said they wouldn't have a repeat of what happened with SM, announcing so soon, 2ith so little to show for so long).

Japanese Direct Playlist deleted the USUM reveal direct, they did this last year when lets go was revealed with the Pokemon Day Direct and before gen 7 was revealed they deleted the X/Y reveal direct. so is it happening?

But that's wrong you dozy shitbag, they didn't announce Let's Go! until end of May, with that big press conference where they also announced Pokémon Quest, GO had the start of the Alolan pokémon rollout with Exeggutor starting to spawn and they confirmed next year's game would launch in the second half of the year.
