>>37279055They're only partially right. A good game is going to be generally marked by the experience which is best discerned by most via the time they were willing to play it.
This can be via replaying but simply by having more content available to keep playing the same save is just as if not more important to the life of a game. Which you can see damaging the series of late.
They're rushing shit out every year because Masuda's retarded and thinks EA and Take Two and their ilk are the pinnacle of modern game design which creates a lack of content via lack of dev time. This means replayability needs to come to the forefront, but the treatment of the story becoming more and more linear and forced is fucking THAT up too.
So what happens? Players demand another game and another game and another game.
They're feeding a falsely created demand and only hurting themselves in the process because as we know for a fact about Trash Go, even many of them didn't want to make some of the changes that were demanded.
Pokémon has at least 250 hours of content under it's belt even without considering things they could add from side series to funnel people to them as well. The Game Corner could've easily gone from supposedly teaching gambling to an arcade type environment with mini-games based on side series games to play as a taste. Why not have a mini 3v3 card battle TCG type game to shill the TCG, obviously, or a one round 2D fighting game to shill Pokkén?
But I digress a little bit... They just aren't competent enough to pump one out every year with all of it, especially not alongside an understandable desire to add new stuff as well. The best thing that could happen for Gen 8 is for them to shortly announce it's being delayed to respond to our complaints about the lack of content until at least 2020 and maybe later. Even if they've been working on it since 2015 they're almost guaranteed to not have had enough time for a release next year.
