What would you think of this game mechanic?
Your Pokemon can't be leveled up past the next Gym Leader's levels. After beating him/her, you can level up again. Any XP got on Pokemon with a maximum level would be wasted. This would contribute several things:
>Can't trivialize bosses with grinding
>The developers know exactly what level you are on and can design the bosses accordingly
>Solo Runs are no longer piss-easy
>Players who don't want to waste potential EXP would try new Pokemon (potentially expanding their team, showcasing more content, adding variety to gameplay), but non-autistic people could ignore it
If the game was designed accordingly, it could work very well. Even as we speak, it's used as an optional rule in some challenge runs.
