Some of the RB sprites are good though and most are better than the RG versions. Dewgong, Muk, Tentacruel, Hitmonlee, Alakazam, Mewtwo and Parasect are some that I really like. However, they fuck up some of the designs that they got right in RG, like Cloyster's shell being wrong and Kingler having two giant claws.
It really took until Yellow for the front sprites to actually look like the artwork, but the backsprites weren't updated so it's quite jarring. Crystal has the best sprites overall of any of the first 4 generations.
