That doesn't fix the Mon distribution of Kanto. That's the main problem with the game. The routes are so fucking boring as there's nothing new to find. Plus every trainer has like 1 Pokemon and it's either a fucking Pidgey or an Oddish, so even the trainer battles are boring and tiresome.
The games would've been so much better if they redesigned kanto a little bit and threw in Pokemon from later generations. I know that's not what they were going for with the games, but it would've been less shit.

Pro controller support would bump up the game from 4 to 6 for more. I think the leaked version came out on like the 14th November. I finished the game on the 15th and never touched it again because I don't like playing in handheld or with 1 fucking joycon in my hand

Adding to this, considering the main gimmick of the game is catching Pokemon with the GO catching, I find it weird it has the least Pokemon to catch since the first fucking generation. You're gonna run out of interesting things to find by the time you've gone through Mt Moon. Bloody baffling and terrible game design.
That's the faults of the game we should be talking about, not autistically screeching at Kanto, POGO or the removal of abilities. This is why it's so damn obvious who hasn't played it, as it's only people who have played it that have fair criticisms of the game with actual substance.

Never mind that the player rarely ever feels like they're actually making progress through the region and seeing new sights, since most routes are still littered with Pidgey, Rattata, Spearow and their evolutions, and quite literally every cave is now home to Zubat, even the ones that didn't have Zubat in the originals.
Cerulean Cave is fucking pathetic for being the final area of the game, there isn't anything worth speaking of to make it feel like "Wow, you've come so far!" beyond Mewtwo except the appearance of Lickitung.
Everything else is just the same old shit you've seen in many places before.
