Look at Lorelei for instance, what really hints to you that she's an Ice type trainer in any of her character designs? Not really anything. But her E4 room was at the very least a room with a surrounded by Water, and since you already faced Misty, someone who used Water type, either she would use Water (again, which would be dumb but let's be honest that's not above GF) or Ice.
