It doesn't matter if Gen8 is good or bad.
We will just market Pikachu, Eevee and Charizard like in every single generation before and the casuals and faggots will buy our games lol

They already played the Eevee card. The Eevee card can only be played towards the end of a generation.

We won't see Eevee shilling again until Gen 8 is nearing its end.

LGE sold considerably less than LGP. Eevee is not that marketable outside of girls and furries.

Pikachu to Eevee was supposedly a 55:45 split. That’s not really very far apart and pretty good considering Pikachu’s sheer visibility and series mascot advantage.
