It's fucking tough. I'm at the top of the age range for zoomers and I dislike the games. Though younger Zoomers like the games in my experience, as they haven't played near as much Pokemon, and are usually coming from GO.
While I dislike it, I can appreciate some of the stuff the game did well though, and actually critique the game fairly instead of just saying 'LGPISS BAD' and shit like everyone else on this damn board who hasn't even played the games says. It was worth the play just to put everything into perspective. It was nice to see what works and what doesn't work and try and partake in discussions instead of being another one of the screeching autists who clog up any kind of reasonable discussion on this god-forsaken board.

I'll agree with one thing. Age is the determining factor. You could only prefer Let's Go if you're a toddler who grew up recently enough to see non-3D games as being inherently old and clunky. Listen. Yes, I played Blue when I was eight when it first came out. I would never imply that the game was more "hardcore" or anything silly like that. I will, however say that the games are patronizing in their presentation.

I actually work with kids and most of them (ages 7-12) claim to enjoy FRLG more than LGPE. They think that RBY are "neat" but say they don't want to play them because the screen is too small. There are a few kids that have claimed to like LGPE more but I have noticed without fail that all of these kids have quit at Team Rocket HQ maze or asked an adult to do it for them.

Take it as you will, I just think that the people who enjoy LGPE are either riding the nostalgia "comfy" meme or their standards for a product simply are not high enough.

I never claimed you did say that FRLG was bad. If I came off as that way, I apologize for not being clear. I stand by that the originals seem to be better than LGPE. If nothing else, the original RBY seem to have more raw content than LGPE. If I'm wrong please correct me. The only *new* content seems to be that Master Trainer bit.

fr/lg had abilities, held items, and a battle tower. if lgpe have these then you'd be right but they don't. i like the idea of master trainers, but after that there's nothing to do in the post game and i can't see trying to get the ultimate master title as any where near as difficult as beating the battle towers, especially since you can just out level them.

Yeah obviously. It's basically a smartphone game (although it looks worse than one). Ugly, empty, blocky worlds, emotionless mannequin NPCs, randomly generated monsters that spawn out of thin air in places where they don't look like they belong.

I mean, yeah, if you compare it to a Game Boy game from the 90s everyone will agree that it's mechanically superior because the console it's on is many hundreds of times more powerful. But if you compare it to other Switch games, or even 3DS games, it's inferior.

Shit, even DS monster catching games like Ni No Kuni look nicer and have more monsters and more features than Pokémon Let's Go.

The only thing I really miss in LGPE are all my favorite shitmons from later gens. If they at least patched it to support whatever you can get in GO it would probably be one of the better 3D games thus far.

Wrong some pokémon suffered a lot of this, just like charmeleon/charizard who just have shitty fire moves until you go to the sylph spa.

And instead we have candies which is jut a wasted potential because the limit is just per stat and not overall, causing a lack of different builds and everybody just gets bulkier, the worst part is that you cannot set an amount of candies to give, but you have to give to your pokémon 1 at the time without any fucking reason, wasting your time and smashing the A button.
