I haven't even considered a return to the grid but they're stupid enough. They're also stupid enough to not add a free camera.

It's lgpe that has me worried. I get it, grid is a homage to old games, blabla. But it's also very copypasted assets friendly and very cheap to make. I worry they may keep it.
