Announcing and publicizing the teaser as part of a commercial break on New Years Day in Japan less than 30 minutes after 2019 starts in Japan. Even if this is a 3D computer graphic movie or a remake of M1, this is still ringing some sort of alarm bells here. Their official Twitter is doing a countdown to this trailer when iirc they didn't do that for any other movie's trailer. And Game Freak liked the social media post (which most likely means nothing, as GF has about a third of TPC's shares). When things are this atypical, logic would dictate that something is going to happen. Why would a company promote 1) a 3D computer graphic movie (new for Pokemon yes, but almost every long-running anime series had made at least one of them by now.), 2) a remake of an existing movie from 20 years ago, and 3) choose to air it as a commercial on the most important day of the Japanese calendar, less than an hour after their year starts?
