No it does not
"Blue Version" literally refers to any version where the mascot and/or cover/logo used blue (or colors within in't range) as signature color in it's design. For example Lugia the mascot of Silver uses blue colors it's design. Zerkom generates Blue electricity to contrast with Reshiram's red/orange fire, thus making White the Blue version of gen 5.

Don't be a fucking retard, my good friend. The "blue" version has been, and has always been, and always will be, in reference to the version that is addressed second in marketing. Had they been referred to as, say, Pearl and Diamond version since day one, then Diamond would be the"blue" version.

But they didn't.

Blue, Silver, Sapphire, LeafGreen, Pearl, White, White2, Y, Moon, Ultra Moon, Let's Go Eevee.

Yet there's one problem, ok several really. But there's one that stand above the rest: X version and Y version.
According to you X would be the "Red" game and Y would be the "Blue" game. This bit awkward since X version sports a bold Blue title and mascot while Y version host a robust red title and mascot. Now it get really awkward when you realize up until gen 6 all game titles had been pure colors or materials with distinct colors. X and Y are not colors. X and Y are members of the alphabet and mathematical figures. Point is Game Freak could have made these title any color they wanted. They could have have given X that robust red and Y a bold blue. But they didn't did they. Because Game Freak doesn't subscribe to your bullshit Red/Blue billing. They adhere to rule of box color Red and Blue/Green is duality. This is why labeling by billing is bullshit Blue is the opposite of Red (at least in the west with warm v cool). Next to Black and White Red and Blue are the most easily noticeable colors in terms of paring/rivalry therefore easier to market. Even if you didn't know what the games were called you'd at least know there's Red one or Blue One each gen to tell apart. Third versions like Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum don't apply to this because third versions are released by themselves. There's not other paired game to confuse them with so they could be whatever color they wanted.

What's stupid is that I can see there being 1st version and 2nd version (which again is a far better labeling system in terms of billing). It has nothing to do with the actual color the game has on the box. I don't get why this argument is even happening though because OP very clearly means he buys the games that are the color blue and not referring to a set's Blue Version. It's an analogy. Like when a difficult game releases and journos call it "the Dark Souls of whatever." By the logic the people who don't understand the analogy put forth, their argument against that game being the Dark Souls of whatever would be that it's not a Souls game.

They are sequels, but as I've said before what makes a game "Red" or "Blue" is the use of those exact colors. Again, Black 2 uses blue, while White 2 uses Red.

Sorry for the small image, best I could find quickly on google. There were two versions of the box art for gen 5 in Japan, and many times the version you posted that doesn't have the color in the tails would have the plastic case inside of a paper/cardboard shell that DID have the color on it. I know this because I imported a japanese copy of white to play it early and got a copy with the color on Zekrom's tail on the box art.

the second billing side will call them the second versions or anything that actually refers to its status instead of using an extremely misleading descriptor which is used basically nowhere else in the same way

The problem with that is that it doesn't exactly work for example green straddles the line between hot and cool as does purple. Then you have ones like Black and White which are neither.

Their referred to as the Red version because they're given top billing like Red version was. If it was based on color it wouldn't be red and blue, it would be red and green. 3: In the back and forth between "color" and "billing" I like how no one on team billing addressed my point on X/Y. I'm going to guess it's because even they know that if you showed a normal functioning person X version, which signature color is Blue, and told that it was the "Red" game (and conversely for Y version), said person would look at you as if you were retarded. As for Ylw/Cry/Emr/Plt, again these were unpaired 3rd version games. They didn't require a dualistic color scheme like the paired flagship games did. As for Green/LG, also exempt . Green was never sold (formally) out of Japan and LG is a remake, not a flagship game. Same for LGPE which a remakes of Yellow which as already a third version.

Okay this one is more complicated but it's still true. Sapphire is marketed "after" Ruby just like White is marketed after Black (makes sense, it sounds better) but GF logic puts it as the primary version.

But that's wrong. In the other versions one team is bad and the other is good, but in Emerald BOTH are bad and there's no good team at all, Groudon and Kyogre were both intented to be tools for their evil plans and Rayquaza was the only one making something good for the region.
