>>37309259The problem is that if no one feared Nintendo taking down their games, pretty quickly (I mean within a generation of people) fans and maybe even indie studios would make vastly better Pokemon related or Pokemon-style games and Nintendo would be fucked. Unless Nintendo can match or exceed what people would make without fear of lawsuit, then they will never fucking allow it and will continue to have their iron grip on the Pokemon name and formula.
I wish it wasnt so though. Look at all the Lovecraft shit that's been made. Board game, video games, stories, etc. There's just so much content and its been adapted so many different ways, it's amazing, all from one guys initial ideas and creations. Considering how much interest there is right now even with Nintendo as hostile as it is towards this sort of thing, Pokemon 100% could have been the same. Of course there'd be some shittier things put out, but so what? Shittier things being put out doesnt hurt anyone when youve got other better options. Instead we're stuck desperately sucking from Nintendo's saggy tits for more precious Pokemon shit because theyre the only one around who can provide it, and if we're getting nothing out we're just fucked.
