Experienced Sinnoh, Hoenn, and Kanto basically right after each other, and Johto soon after.
DP is the worst, but Pt fixes almost every major problem and the result is pretty great. Hoenn was the best of the 3 regions, Emerald was great. FRLG was really good but felt like a step back after playing Emerald.
Keep in mind I played all these between the ages of 10-12. Getting Diamond while ~10½ and SS on release when I was 13.
HGSS was clearly better than all other Pokémon games I played at the time. It holds up.
Hype up for gen 5 and 6 were awesome, but it sucks knowing that nothing has come close to being as good as the Johto remakes.
At least BW1&2 were still good.
I really hope gen8 is at least good.
