No hate against Turner but Hitoshi Ariga would be a better art director for Pokémon. Turner's art looks always the same cartoony-like, Hitoshi Ariga has more different styles.

I definitely think Alolan Muk could have been done a bit better but for the most part I agree with you. The ones I have an issue with arent down to the designs themselves but how they were rendered in 3D; Aurorus being the most noteworthy.

Directs art. As in, coordinates all the artists, approves designs and concepts, likely has broad thematic or stylistic ideas for the entire game that are then disseminated to the other artists, etc.

Turner is basically the man deciding and guiding gen 8's aesthetic.
