>>37331022They very rarely have an impact on anything. If you don't play competitive, you probably won't give a fuck about them. If you do, you're pretty much always going to want 31 IVs in everything - the exceptions being special attackers with 0 IVs for the occasional Foul Play and incredibly rare instances like Stakataka exploiting Beast Boost.
As it is, all they really do is act as a barrier - you pretty much need to get the perfect IVs for a competitive Pokemon, but aren't gonna put more than a second's thought into what they are because there is a 99% chance only one perfect IV setup exists for that Pokemon. It's nothing but a time waster/deterrent.
