I mean megas work for 3rd stage pokemon. That houndoom mega would've been a great final evo for the line. Some megas dont look great as final evos though.

Their appearances are like that because they had to incorporate a jet engine and a generator into their designs.
Or maybe they just did that because unova is filled with European culture like the knights and castles so they just made them more western for some dumbfuck reason.
