Cool stuff like Totems were underdone. They were the only hard part of the games and you onyl fight a few of them. Imagine something like Ultraspace with randomly generated mons, but you fight random 2v1 Totem battles instead. The semi-secret SOS mons could have been expanded as well. Nothing quite fires up the autism like rare underleveled Mence or getting Gengar without trading.
For being released right after ORAS, it was pretty sad that it was missing stuff like Dive and Secret bases which would have fit an island hopping adventure.
