Fearow and Dodrio are functionally as they are. Pidgeot doesn't have the points to do much of anything in the post-Gen 2 EV system.

The only reason people care about Pidgeot's line is because it's the most accessible shitbird in KANTO_____________. If Dodou (an actually interesting design) was on Route 1 we might have Mega Dodrio now.
Spearow is on early routes too but it and Fearow have always been portayed as the wild animalistic asshole. Beedrill of course goes against my point and actually makes me wonder where the fuck Mega Butterfree is.

I like the design but Pidgeotto, Pidgeot and Mega-Pidgeot all look basically identical. There's no reason for it to have 4 versions

pidgeot was the worst of the three in gens 1-3 cause it got cucked out of drill peck

then in dp it and dodrio got brave bird and fearow became the cuck. tho fearow still had higher base atk and speed so its normal type moves hit harder on average.
