The fact they've since told us their new game will launch late 2019 means unlike past years, we went into release year KNOWING there was a new game launching that year.
And let's just humour the shitpost rumours for a second, maybe Game Freak might have to delay it, makes it even MORE unlikely they'd announce the titles now and start the hype machine, if they then had to turn around in June and say "Please understand...".
