>For those of you with Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the previously unobtainable berries of Enigma Berry, Micle Berry, Custap Berry, Jaboca Berry & Rowap Berry are now being distributed to all players globally using Mystery Gift > Receive Via Internet. This gift comes with 12 of each Berry and is available until 23:59 UTC on September 2nd 2019 so be sure to get it while you can. With this, these berries are also legal in all official competitions

The 3DS community on Gfags is especially good, they do clone givaways of shiny pokemon and event pokemon all the time and some even offer hacked pokemon that can pass through link trade for you, I got my shiny totem aquanad that way

this is good but stupidly not enough from an ultra changes game
and those are the rare ones, there are supposed to be more common ones that are still not avaible
at least custap will somewhat shuffle vgc

I'm expecting some mythicals here and there (because the fuckers release them when a gen is about to die) and the last 2 shiny tapu in some competition shenanigans, particularly international competitions as they need some fodder so the people "training" for vgc worlds can find an actual match.

Most of the pokeblock/poffin berries like the watmel berry haven’t been released, but since they’re pretty much only needed for boosting contest stats and there are no pokemon contests in gen 7, there’s no incentive towards releasing them.

I got my Starf berry from the GTS. A lot of people will put Starf berries on random Pokemon and then ask for absurd legendaries. People are so desperate for Starf berries that the Starf berry itself is worth trading a cloned legendary for.

Wrong, Watmel Berry is one of the most relevant because it has a 100BP Fire type and can remove Ferrothorn and Scizor switch ins if you run Natural Gift on Grass SD like Leafeon and such, many other relevant offensive types lack their 100BP berries too, some both, the 100BP and the 90BP forced to use less reliable berries that can be affected by type charts if the holder is attacked or status, see Occa Berry, it can be either used for two situational scenarios or wasted upon a non stab Flamethrower activating it and the user would not be allowed to get the wanted KO afterward.

The other are mostly 90BP versions.
The new avaible ones from this distrubution have unlocked Micle which is Rock type 100BP berry, Magost which isn't released was 90BP Rock typed for example.
The contest berries and pinch ones have the advantage to either be not affected by the type match ups and status interactions or being harder to trigger. Now some Chlorophyll Grass mons can throw Micle at Mega Charizard Y for example, even a Froslass can if you want to meme. If I recall correctly Talonflame back in the past gen when Natural Gift berries weren't furtherly buffed up 10 and 20 BP was quite happy getting the Apicot berry.

Natural Gift deserved a tutor in Alola or we're really getting some Sinnoh in Gen 8, it's the one turn wonder physical Hidden Power in the end.
