>So now we have sky Zubats and Tentacools? Neat! Yes, having two Pokemon you can encounter by surfing instead of one is really neat.
>Wailord was extremely rare on deep ocean routes.>Gold had Mantine.Mantine was extremely rare on a tiny stretch of water, no trainer in the game used it, and it was a version exclusive. Wailord is used by trainers and you can fish up its pre-evo with ease. RS wins here.
>They're still on 1 route. Here's another difference: none of the ones you listed are 1% encounters on a route that's otherwise filled with gen 1 Pokemon. The closest there is Skitty, and it has an ingame trade to acquire it anyways, and even then, it's a 2% encounter rate on one route.
>Plusle, Minun, Volbeat, Illumise, Gulpin, Roselia. All 1 route mons.True. But unlike Snubble, Smeargle, Marill, Dunsparce, or Yanma, they aren't 1% encounters - with the sole exceptions of Volbeat and Illumise in the same-colored versions. Even then, on the Volbeat/Illumise/Roselia route, you have an 80% chance of running into a gen 3 mon. On Yanma's route? 99% chance of running into a gen 1 mon, 94% at night.
