Scizor doesn't really look like an evo at all. It seems more like it should be an equal counterpart like pinsir/heracross, or even a mega. It feels like just a reskinned, less detailed scyther, and it's worse off for dropping the saurian feet and head.

The funny part is that Scizor's rearranged stat total means that not only is Scyther NOT ruined by Scizor's existence, Scizor does not do all of Scyther's jobs better than it does and Scyther gets Eviloite access in later games for it, but evolving Scyther becomes a permanent "trade-off". Of course you can just catch two. And yes, Mega Scizor looks like a toy, but that isn't Scizor's fault.

If they still had it look like a velociraptor covered in now metal armor, prehaps with the claws being more scythe-like, it would've been fine. But they completely disregarded the base-mon for the evo's design, and now it barely resembles it as a result.

And i'm pretty sure >>37356834 is an unofficial design, but it fixes the problem by putting more weight on the lower half of samurott's body and *almost* fixes the issues with the feet not being wide enough to support the weight. Point is, that isn't a 100% on model samurott.

If official depictions showed it as a biped more often than not i don't think there would be an issue if it were to drop down to 4 legs to perform a special attack.

Oh ok, a reverse image search took me to a japanese clothing website hosting a design your own pokemon shirt competition. I put 2 and 2 together and got 5 i guess.
Either way, that doesn't really invalidate what i said about Samurott's design. My point was that image is slightly off model compared to how we normally see it, but it fixes the main issue people have. If the TCG artists are taking creative liberties to improve their art i'm not going to complain.
