Do you think after Alola the anime will return to normal region exploration, or will the show forever now be slice of life? (Pic unrelated)

The whole slice of life was only used because of Yokai Watch being hugely successful in Japan a few years ago. Now that Yokai Watch is dead it would be smart to go back to the original format.

Gen 7 brazenly ripped off a lot of Yokai Watch's aspects across the franchise in general, and now that Yokai Watch is no longer a serious factor in Japan they can return to their usual format.
They'll probably keep Alola's Tone as to not accidentally tread too far off into being something Pokemon isn't like how XY tried way too hard to become a Shonen Anime.

They talked about it in XY and there wasn't any retconning. In fact, DP had Togekiss slap a Draco Meteor away without giving a shit and they haven't shown any potential fairy types being affected by Dragon attacks before either.
