Put the left imagine in it's native resolution. It's not a fair comparison.
LGPE is a bad game and has flaws, but it's graphics is not the issue with it. That's one of its strong points honestly. You'd know if you actually played it.

Texture work on the left is still leaps and bounds better.

It's ironic - usually color saturation and detail don't go hand-in-hand. Game is brown and gray? It'll usually have a lot of detail. Game is oversaturated and bright? Not so much detail. But with LGPE, they managed to not only remove most of the color, but most of the detail too.

The only places it drops frames are in Viridian Forest and Koga's Gym. Pretty embarassing that it does considering it shouldn't be that graphically demanding, but to say it has frame drops out of the ass is just plain wrong.

Framerate =/= Resolution. My inquiry stands to determine whether or not the image quality of LGPE ever drops in clarity during gameplay. For example, games like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on the Switch portable mode usually runs at a resolution of around 500p, however, it can oftentimes drop to sub-400p in certain graphically taxing scenarios. See pic related for an example.

Framerate and consistent frame pacing is another issue entirely. But it is one I am willing to tolerate if the game is turn-based in nature, especially if the internal rendering in portable mode coincides with the native res of the Switch's 6.2'' display (high pixel density is so utterly delicious, my nigga).

Just to elaborate on this.

Since Gen 3, Pokemon sales seem to have stabilized in a certain trend.
Main games sell about 16 million
Remakes sell about 13 million
Third versions sell about 7 million

Currently, the pace of Lets Go's sales puts it at a third version total.
Last I heard, it's even failed to outsell USUM in Japan in the same timeframes, although I don't know how much overseas sales compare.

4 actually, it started development more or less at the same time as X.
But Monolith had to give away workers to help Nintendo make BotW.

Every other major release is around the top 5 of their respective series.
Only Mario Odyssey is still behind other Super Mario platformers, but it'll likely pass Galaxy numbers by the end.

It really isn't. The game has an incredibly bland style, which it attempts to hide under bright and pretty colors. Compared to pretty much every other first party Switch game, it's like comparing a plain slice of white bread to a properly decorated cake.

Waity till you see, Let's Go Johto will be announced as the "latest entry into the sister series of our Core games".

Every major Nintendo franchise delivered in some way on the Switch outside of these:

LGPE's sign/whiteboard/related textures definitely blow ORAS into the weeds, the foliage looks a lot better on the right too. Everything else is pretty much the same, except ORAS having more saturation and higher contrast on the textures, which doesn't really equate with detail at all, that repeating flower patch tile is also pretty awful.

I can't think of any reason to claim one absolutely destroys the other visually other than subjective preference or outright bias/butthurt.

It didn't, and it wasn't. GoW4 was a game that got rave reviews and sold gangbusters. LGPE had a strong initial showing but lost all its momentum when word of mouth started getting around.

Pretty interesting comparison though - the PSP was a platform that was completely fucked by piracy. Same as the 3DS, actually. And ORAS still did much better than LGPE did at this point.
