I'll say this about Digimon. The dub was poorly done, but the spirit was right, because the original is too serious and clunky, less a fun adventure and more a save the world story. Pokemon's dub is in the ballpark of the OS sub.
Monster Rancher is like the RSE+ storyline but a million times better. All Pokemon has going for it is the unique catching and competitive aspect.
