They should have updated it to the modern standards wholesale just like BotW was the original Zelda done better and Odyssey was Mario 64 but done better and Smash ultimate is Smash but done better.
All of Nintendo's other shit on the Switch went back to the drawing board and build up using the original, Pokémon went back and said "This...? It's all garbage because retards are too stupid to understand it, remove it all.".
THAT is what I wanted out of the next game - Kanto redone to be as fully open as possible (within reason - I'm not talking BotW type world, just open world enough to allow you to do anything in any order for the most part, with optional shit on the side all of which is actually affected by your progress elsewhere, etc.) with new Pokémon and all the gameplay.
It could've been a great start to Gen 8 to take us back to the roots and instead we got this shit that isn't even as good as the original buggy ones. At least their bugs provide some fun.
