I like the Pokemon Centre and Professor Gym leader ideas, reminds me of those old rumours about how to battle Oak/Rowan that I would hear as a kid.
A child leader could be fun too, but I'm not sure Incineroar and Tyrantum fit the theme. Maybe Vanilluxe and something else?

I made a set of Gyms and Elite 4 for a British inspired region in a thread a little while back. Might still come up with a villain team, a few new Pokemon concepts (probably just starters/legendaries) and general plotline at some point.

Only Pokemon ideas I have so far are:
>Fire/Ground Badger starter
>Fire/Grass Red Squirrel
>Either Legendary or Mythical Black Dog, probably Ghost/Dark

A villain team with a Guy Fawkes motif could be cool, but would probably inspire way too much V For Vendetta-style autism. Or a villain leader who thinks he's King Arthur's reincarnation or something.

JRPG is full of POkemon that fulfill RPG classes like Knight (escalvier), Weevile (Rogue), Medicham (Monk), Sylveon (Healer), Mismagius (its obvious), Hydreigon (dragon).

Most of the themes are based on dex descriptions, so Seer's pokemon are pokemon who can predict the future in one way or another

The Loch Ness and Queen ones were totally creative
I picked Incineroar because where i live, most children love wrestling and heels but always get bored of it when they grow up, and Tyrantrum as it's signature because children are also known to love dinosaurs during their early days, specially T-rex

Here's a concept I had for a region with a Rock/Fighting/Flying starter trio. I also made them all 2-stage, since all the 3-stage fighting types are trade evo.

Here's mine, player starts off their journey in populous city known for its music, fragrances, classy shit like that. You get to choose one of Bulbasaur, Pignite or Totodile.

I'd like to note I wanted it to be important that you the trainers you're versing are usually using mons you've been able to catch or have already seen.

Early routes include Patrat line, Kricketune line, Slurpuff line, Staraptor line, Jiggly line, Roserade line etc.

First gym battle is here when you return back to the city after exploring early routes, it's a FAIRY TYPE gym leader who is your mother who is a famous perfume maker. She has a Jigglypuff with a Slurpuff ace. There are only two trainers in her gym, one who uses Igglybuff and Shiinotic, and one who uses Wigglytuff. The puzzle is to walk through and collect type of perfume clouds to please customers in her perfume palace. I won't go into this much detail with the rest of the gyms to save time but I like to think about this stuff. Your mother is so proud when you beat her and is keen to let you go on your journey.

First fight with rivals here after beating your mother, one rival is an upbeat and happy guy who uses cute mons while the other is moody and edgy girl who uses rougher mons. They will have whatever starters you didn't pick so I left their first squares blank, you fight them throughout your journey.

Moving through the region the next part is a swampy jungle biome on outskirts of your home city, full of poison-types, monkeys/sloths, Yanmega and Yanma, frogs, bugs and shroom lines. Dusknoir line at night. There is a gyspy like town in the middle of the swamp, very small cluster of wooden buildings, and here is the BUG TYPE gym leader. He is a young gypsy musician with a guitar and a Kricketune ace.

Next travel from swamp to desert biome where in the centre is a caravan trailer/make-shift city. The surrounding desert routes are full of ground types and cactus Pokemon, whatever you'd usually find in deserts in the games like Skorupi line and Sigalyph and shit.

Caravan city is not as big as first city but it's a pretty big group of people compared to gyspy swamp. Known as the "travelling city" because it moves through the desert all the time. GRASS TYPE gym leader here, oldest man in the caravan city, specialises in cactus Pokemon. He has prickly mons and a Cacturne ace. The other trainers in his caravan gym use Sawsbuck, Amoonguss and Roserade line.

When leaving the desert there is another town on the outskirts, near cliff edge, smaller than the caravan city. Inhabitants obsessed with space and aliens. This town has pretty lonely vibes and less lively than the others, but at least you get your fishing pole here from an old fisherman. You also get your fossil in this town, choice between Bastiodon and Armaldo. You can't revive it yet. There is another gym led by a crazy alien conspiracy theorist PSYCHIC TYPE gym leader, with a Beheeyem ace. Come back here and meet with the leader to catch Deoxys after Elite 4.

After beating the third gym you now make your way up the cliffside to get to the higher altitude parts of the region. Continue up mountainside routes with a few rock types, couple of interesting diamond mines (Carbink, Sableye, Bronzong) until you reach pinnacle of dormant volcano that overlooks desert and swamp. Fire types here like Magcargo line, Camerupt, Torkoal etc and a few fighting types.

In this region there is one Evil Team who are doing evil shit up here, led in co-operation by a male and female couple. There are two towns up here at high elevation that progress the story along, one is near the volcano and the second is on the very edge of the mountain.

The second town is home to the fifth gym, the FLYING TYPE gym. The leader is female base jumper who teaches and trains people and flying types at this high altitude. She has birds obviously and a Staraptor ace.

After more travelling back down the mountain through routes with Pokemon such as Bouffalant, Gogoat line, Honchkrow line, Elekctabuzz line, Klink line etc you reach a bustling city similar to your home city. They are twin cities and while the other was famous for fragrances this one is famous for its jewellery.

The sixth leader is the ROCK TYPE gym leader who you met inside diamond mines earlier, he is a gemstone enthusiast and jewellery maker with a Gigalith ace. His gym is a jewellery showcase house in the city.

You have another run in with the evil team here but this time you battle the leaders in a double battle.

You're now reaching the ocean-side area of the region. At coast line there is a wind farm town with routes where you can catch all the mons between Buizel and Palossand. It's a really friendly town and there is a battle cafe here where you can battle with new trainers every day.

You run into both of your rivals who have caught up to you and you battle them one by one. They then tell you that you need to surf out to small rocky island made of volcanoes where a smaller town if you want to find the next gym leader. The route is full of water mons.

The small town is a scientific settlement lead by an old scuba diver/scientist/marine biologist guy with a Barbaracle ace. Come back here after Elite 4 to catch Volcanion. After beating him he'll tell you where to go next, which is the ocean route you didn't take to get here.

Surf back to mainland to find new caves that aren't connected to the volcanoes, instead sub-temperate caverns full of ice types and a few dragon types and shit. You'll run into the three legendary beasts at the lowest basement of the cave and they'll set off throughout the region for you to hunt down.

You'll then find an ancient ruin of a castle from centuries ago along the coastal path, the surrounding routes are full of rock and steel types, Altaria line, Escavalier line and stuff. Exploring the ruins are entirely optional before beating the Elite 4 but you'll find good stuff in there like the Drampa and Pancham line, and if you come back after you will find Marshadow here.

Travel further to the next city on the coast which is decently sized and has a dock for exporting steel. The eight and last gym is a steelworking factory on the outskirts, led by a capitalist, rich factory mogul STEEL TYPE specialist. He's a bit of a cunt and his ace is Steelix.

The last couple of routes are pretty generic and grassy as you head further back inland away from the coast. They are leading to 'victory road' are full of mons you've previously ran into, and there is a laboratory on one route where you'll be given Genesect after you beat the Elite 4.

You have your final confrontation with the Evil Teams at the edge of a swampy area which you learn is Victory Road. It's a constantly rainy marsh containing all the remaining mons like the Goomy line, bug types and grass types. You learn that the evil couple and their team have stolen Xerneas, Groudon and Giratina from foreign regions and you battle them one on one before they are able to tame them and make them act for them. To get to them you have to battle a lot of grunts throughout the swamp and they use every type of mon from all over the region and are actually pretty difficult. When you beat all the grunts and traverse through the swamp to a clearing you face the leaders. The guy's ace is Mega Tyranitar and the lady's ace is Mega Medicham. After beating them they realise they are out of their element and release all 3 legendaries for you to catch in different parts of the region after you beat the Elite 4.

Xerneas waits for you with Marshadow at the castle ruins, Groudon waits for you with Volcanion inside the volcano, and Giratina waits for you with Deoxys in the desert.

You then pass through victory swamp and reach the region's Pokemon League which is a large base set up in a sunnier clearing on the outskirts of the swamp. It connects back to the city with the steelworker's dock after you defeat the league.

At the front door of the league you run into your rivals for a final battle with their teams finally having 6 members. You beat them and your friendships have strengthened throughout your journey, and they both wish you luck against the league.

The Elite 4 can be challenged in any order.

There is a GROUND TYPE specialist, male, who is a young, reckless teenager who lives alone in the desert area of the region. He is hotheaded and dislikable, and his ace is Mega Camerupt.

There is a FIRE TYPE specialist, female, who is a kind and warm famous chef from one of the cities. She's much more calm and collected than the other members of the league but eager for a good battle. Her ace is Mega Magcargo.

There is an ICE TYPE specialist, male, who is a quiet, older blind gentleman. No one for sure knows quite how he can battle so well without vision but he succeeds, and his ace is Mega Vanilluxe.

Lastly, there is a POISON TYPE specialist, female, who is a skinny and pale woman who is from one of the cities but loves to spend time and train in the swamp. She's a bit rude and snarky. Her ace is Mega Drapion.

After beating the Elite 4 you can then challenge the Champions to a double battle. The champions are a mother and son duo with the mother's ace being Mega Khangaskan and the son's ace being Slaking.

And that's it my dudes, my region.

Starting with a map.
Player starts in Grauzone all non-English names are puns/words borrowed from Eastern Bloc nations (otherwise known as the USSR and her puppets a newly constructed town based around the newly constructed pokemon lab (after the last one in Blusk collapsed). The current champion is currently serving as the professor, and as such the lab is closed on Saturdays. The town is not yet finished and there's still a lot of construction going on.
From there the player can head South to Zilston, where they can receive the Old Rod. They can go nowhere but back to Grauzone from here since crossing Lake Gloomy requires surf and the road through Mt. Kelvin to Schwarzville only goes one way because of a recent avalanche.
From there the player can go to Zitronen which is a "large" city. Heading through Zitronen to Zitronen Woods. Which is a small forest filled with mostly shitmons, and some decent bug types. From there to Krasnygrad, another large city with a gym (technically Gym 1) and the Safari Zone. The gym badge gives the player the ability to use fly outside of battle. The player receives both the surf HM and cold weather gear (needed for crossing Mt. Kelvin) in this town, the same person supplies both and only gives 1 before the player has the badge. The gym is closed Saturday (because of League Day) through Wednesday (because the gym leader is a busy person, they all are). Trying to get to Schwarzville the player bumps into the first few grunts of the local evil team.
In Schwarzville is Gym 3 (currently blocked by grunts waiting to challenge the gym, they move after the player has two badges). But not much else. The player can traverse across Mt. Kelvin and catch a few ice types as well as run into league employees, which is how the player learns the backstory of the region.

Sergei. Currently subbing in as gym leader of Baruun. Former test-pilot. A bit unhinged, he's in his mid 30s and wears a flight suit. As a gym leader he wears aviators and an older style leather/fur bomber jacket. As an elit four he wears a modern jet pilot suit with the oxygen off, for rematches the mask is on. Like the rest of the E4 he's a former champion.
G3. "Bug"-type/E2. Dragon-type
Joseph. Doesn't take his job as substitute gym leader seriously. All his gym mons were caught nearby. Wears jeans and a Dragonite t-shirt, with his hair laying over his face as a gym leader. As an E4 member he wears a ragged trenchcoat over fatigues, with his hair spiked. Generally he's laidback, but as an E4 he goes full cornball, like most dragon trainers. His age is unknown, although he appears to be in his late teens. There are rumors that he threw the championship match against Atalanta.
G4. Ice-type
G5. "Ground"-type/E3. Rock-type
The former professor, Isabel. Decided to step down once she started subbing as a gym leader. An avid fossil collecter, her whole E4 are revived fossils. She started collecting fossils 40 years ago and her lab has hundreds of fossils. Her gym team are all from the nearby desert. Her outfit remains the same just brown shorts and a white polo, except when in her lab when a lab jacket is added.
G6. Water-type/E4. Water-type
Atalanta, maritime adventurer. Takes her job as temporary gym leader too seriously. So seriously that she has no gym trainers since they all left from being overworked in their training. Has traveled the world, caught an ultrabeast and uses it as her ace in the E4. The youngest of the E4 at only 16 she was also the youngest champion of this region.
G7. Steel-type
G8. Fairy-type
C.
Prof. Sibirica. Retires to just being a Prof. after being defeated.

The missing gym leaders were/are members of the local evil team. Which a few years previous had managed to awaken the three local legendaries. Hence all the destruction throughout the region. The legendaries eventually calmed down and went to their roosts. This lead to the current state of events. The former leader of the organization, a renowned Ghost-type trainer was believed to have died in the events he didn't quite die, and the current leader is actually the former leader in disguise. He isn't fully alive either, he now inhabits the same sort of living death as his ghosts. His team is all lvl 100 at the final battle. The grunts have all been convinced that their goal is to catch and subdue these "dangerous" legendaries. The three admins are rest of the missing gym leaders, a Bug-type specialist, a Psychic-type specialist, and a Poison-type specialist. They appear to be working independently of each other, but each one is chasing a different legendary.

Why a poison type leader should be a bad guy? Shouldn't a gym leader be "useful" for the community and for the " type" itself.
I mean, we can have a doctor as a poison type leader, he studies and protect the poison types so then he can creates serum, vaccines etc

Why every fire type gym leader is a " hot-headed strong guy" why not a goofy looking(but with a serious face) chubby gourmet chef

I think we all can be a little more creative

Since this is an OC thread, I’ll post my ideas for a Dual-Type Hybrid Pokémon League. I don’t have any drawings of the characters yet, so you’ll have to do with my lengthy descriptions.

Martin is a film enthusiast and aspiring director who also runs a Pokémon Gym. His Gym is based around the movies, and is designed like a movie theater. His Dark-type Pokémon represent various movie genres. His Electric-type Pokémon are based around light. The Lux Badge also represents light, an important part of film. He is named after the famous director, Martin Scorcese.

>Auberon

Auburn is a bombastic, masculine fitness guru. With his outrageous personality (he’s kind of similar to Kamina from Gurren Lagann or Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist), he inspires people to enhance their muscles and do their best on the battlefield. His Gym is designed like a regular fitness gym. Even though he uses both Fighting and Fairy-type Pokémon, they excel in physical strength. Auberon is named after the king of the Fair Folk from Shakespeare’s play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. If you defeat Auberon, he will give you the Titania Badge, which is named after his wife. In a postgame cutscene, you will see him deliver flowers to her grave.

>Bonney

Bonney’s Gym is based around a ghostly pirate ship. As Gym Leader, she serves as the ship’s captain. The ship also doubles as a tourist attraction, but Bonney is annoyed by this. Her Water-type Pokémon are vicious sea beasts, and her Ghost-types are themed around buried treasure. She will give you the Brine Badge. Bonney is named after the notorious female pirate, Anne Bonney.

>Smith

Smith’s Gym is designed around a metalworks factory/smelting plant. He runs a serious business and trains both Steel-type and Fire-type Pokémon. He will give you the Forge Badge if defeated.

The idea was that depending on how many badges a trainer had they would choose an appropriate amount of pokemon from an appropriate tier.

Bea and Neil are brother and sister. Bea is an adventurous girl who loves gross Bugs (her name sounds like “bee”), and her brother Neil is a shy boy who loves cuddly Normal-types. If you defeat them, they will give you the Family Badge.

>Shen

Shen’s Gym is designed around a Buddhist temple. The monks have taken a vow to train with Ground and Dragon-type Pokémon as a means of discipline and meditation. Since all of the monks look the same, Shen will be hiding among them, constantly monitoring your progress through the temple. He will find you when you have bested all of his brothers and sisters. If you defeat him, he will award you with the Discipline Badge. Shen is named after the dragons of old.

I don’t know what my plans are for my Elite Four. For the typings, instead of hybridization, I went with types that have never been primarily represented by any E4 member in any game. #1 and #2 haven’t been written yet, but they’re Normal and Electric-type. #3 is Sana, the Grass-type E4. I’m thinking she’s going to be some sort of ninja, even though that sort of thing’s been done before. Her name is a pun (“Sana” contains “san”, which is Japanese for “three”). #4 is Klavier, the Fairy-type E4. She’s an elegant woman who plays a piano. Her name is two puns (“Klavier” is German for “piano”, and “Klavier” contains the word “vier”, which is German for “four”).

Love the themes though, a Poison/Psychic bayou fortune teller is inspired as hell. I love seeing otherwise unrelated types brought together in a coherent theme.

I designed the teams as post-game, fully developed teams because I haven't decided on the in-game order (except that Shen would definitely be Gym #8). Naturally, earlier Gyms would have less developed teams, and of course Tyranitar wouldn't be a part of the first Gym.
