Will we ever go back to the color naming scheme again? It seems like when they stopped naming the games after colors, that's when the quality plummeted. Maybe I'm reading too deep into things, but it's a coincidence that just occurred to me for the first time just a moment ago.

RBY(G) are the led colors and generally colors supported by GB and GBC(olor)

GSC are named as somewhat of deluxe expansions of Kanto and a focus on Johto's traditionary Japan, the games also had a spiritual content compared to the previous ones, Crystal also had the translucid GBC

RSE was similar to GSC except the legendaries were ispired from foreign myths and cultures just like these rare gems that also perfect fit the legends and echo the first RGB games

DPP is back at GS again, luxury and spiritual reference, silver and gold are featured in Sinnoh's legendary mon designs and Platinum, Heart Gold and Soul Silver are linked, as you can see there's a spiritual and lore connection

BW is an easy choice for something like a plot that features yin yang cover legends and in general muh opposite everything

XY is about the 3DS features since those were the first games to have debuted to take advantage of this handheld console

SM well I can't really tell actually, maybe there's a simple answer but it's something indeed new, probably a way to shoutout at the successful Pokemon GO (since the logo is the planet Earth) international Pokemon relaunch (mostly to GO normies that ended killing /Pokemon/ with LGPE)
