This happened in HGSS. They’ve stopped since because they didn’t want to pressure someone into picking a certain starter over the others just because it’s shiny.

Jokes on you, in Gen 8 there will be a 10-minute cutscene when you pick a starter.

In the Sinnoh remakes Prof. Rowan and Cynthia will have a long dialogue before you even get to pick your starter.

That shit PISSED ME THE FUCK OFF in gen iv. Luckily I only had to reset once and grabbed an Adamant Turtwig but Jesus Christ if I ever play gen iv I usually breed myself a starter before hand real fast so you don’t have to play for 5 hours only to be able to reset 17 times and get the bad nature that’s the opposite you’re looking for 10 times in a row to boot.

Yes? The stars appear and the sparkle sound effect plays when they enter a battle.
I kind of hope they have actual sparkles in gen 8 instead of a big cartoony star. It's genuinely my least favourite shiny animation.

BW's final fight is the real BS.You have to cap legend,fight N,fight Ghetsis and roll credits to check Reshiram/Zekrom.

They did this in HGSS, and besides. Game Freak pretty much hands you 4IV shiny Pokemon these days. I don't see how this is even remotely close.

1/1635 isn't as easy as 1/8 you tard. Far from it. It's the same rate as getting a legendary with the shiny charm. I feel like starters should have minor gender differences too if you're so butthurt about not getting a female Popplio in 3 tries.

It also makes no sense. It's jarring when you pick a non-shiny starter only for it to magically change colour 10 seconds later.

I'm not sure if they mean you can't soft reset your starter because the starter's gender is at least determined when you start your save file.
LGPE didn't even have shiny models for the starters. If you want one the only way to get it is to mod their textures.
