What I was talking about was when they'll stop selling the entire family which is likely at least 5 years away.
In the past the handheld systems were essentially dead about 18 months after Pokémon moved on which we're at now but it doesn't mean they have no selling power left in them and they'll remain on the market as long as possible because it would be a waste of money not to, just like it would've been a waste to ditch the Wii.
You do know a game even still just got released for the Wii a few months ago, right? Even though it stopped manufacturing over a year ago now? There's money in it if it doesn't require too much to get it there. Nintendo is not going to say no as long as someone wants to keep giving them money.
