>>37375425Bait but I'll bite, I'm bored as shit right now.
It bothers me that the game areas are made exclusively out of right angles
800 Pokemon and they only choose the ones I've used the most.
No cross-gen evos which doesn't make a damn bit of sense considering they kept Megas, Alolan forms, and retyping changes. Would fucking Crobat really have broken immersion?
Battles are dumbed down to hell. Most moves that were strategic just weren't put into the game.
No abilities. Most megas are defined by their ability, which makes them just boring stat boosts in an already piss-easy game.
EVs, while flawed, were completely eliminated and replaced with something inherently broken.
Less TMs to coincide with less moves, and returning TMs that were axed by gen 2 for good reason, like Teleport.
Happiness stat merged with the Amie-boosting shit, making the game even easier mode despite your wishes.
Wild """battles""" are both yawn-inducing and also rage-inducing at the same time, somehow. No depth and random fleeing like the safari zone. No one's favorite mechanic is the fucking safari zone.
Game mandates you use a single fucking joycon. Full controls exist in handheld mode, so they had to have made a deliberate decision to limit your input methods.
Go connectivity required to get Meltan, the one piece of new fucking content they introduced. I've never gotten into it and have no desire to, so now there's two Pokemon I'll likely never get to experience. It's not even like "have an account to get Meltan!" it's "do a ton of shitty luck-based time-restricted quests to get Meltan, and now wait for a shitty daily event like 100 times to evolve it."
It's clearly not for my demographic, which is fine. Not everything needs to cater to me. But don't claim this shit is "mainline" when it's clear it's a cashgrab for KANTOOOOOOOO fucks and a gateway drug to rope in new saps from the Go phenomenon. It's incredibly transparent the lack of effort they put into the game.
