>>37379286I'm pretty excited. Even people i know aren't into the franchise were interested in the trailer and are hyped for it despite the odd premise. If they somehow make it Paddington 2-tier in terms of quality, then there's a chance it will broaden the franchise's appeal way beyond that of the people already familiar with the franchise. I know why Gen 1 is gonna be the centerpiece for the movie because they don't wanna take risks, but at least Greninja seems to be getting a lot of focus too, so that might mean other gens wont be limited to just background appearances, so that might ignite some interest in other gens. If this movie and Gen VIII turn out great, Pokemon might even out-Marvel Marvel even in the west, so there's a lot pending on the Pokemon franchise this year.
