>>37386884Can't say I agree, though it's not like they're bad games in any respect. X and Y just had a whole bunch of great quality of life improvements, and the addition of megas brought a lot to the table in terms of competitive play.
GS would definitely be a close second, but BW wasn't too good of a start for the gen, IMO. There more story focused nature of the main game was nice enough, but it was just a prelude to the fucking handholdy mess the series would become, which XY admittedly contributed to as well. The story itself got really underwhelming towards the end, and Ghetsis ended up being one of the worst antagonists in the main series. His plan made no fucking sense to begin with. The lore for the box legendaries also feels unfinished and it's frustrating as hell that we'll probably never revisit anything to do with the "original dragon". Also, gen V introduced shiny locks which are cancer.
>>37386917Three things. THREE. Two of which are things you can't fault XY for, as they're the first games in the gen and a third version and Battle Frontier are traditionally saved for later in the gen. So yeah, I think it's pretty fair to say gen VI would have been amazing if it hadn't made three huge missteps.
