Did evs ruin casually playing pokeymans for anybody else, i know the games are easy and all but i still can't not think about it. I wish you could turn your ability to gain evs on and off at will so you could avoid bad evs. Maybe i just have a case of the autism

They make stats better, pretty much irrelevant to you if you don’t care about comp. Also, a good strategy can still win you a battle even in comp.

At least with EVs, you can eventually remove them from stats to distribute them correctly.

This is why I liked Super Training. You could just EV train early without the macho brace or hordes, and not have to worry about the spread for your team. Hell, you can even reset them easily if you fucked up. The balloon mini-game was kind of fun too.

No. EVs are fine because they're easily changeable. And, aside from HPs, IVs don't matter anymore either due to Bottle Caps, unless you play competitive. It's goddamn natures that break my soul now.

For me, the sad thing is, natures are probably what's going to stall me at the starter in gen 8 (even worse if my type gets stuck with the feminine starter this gen, because then I'll have to roll for nature and 12.5%), and make me take the risk of lurking to learn the best nature for it while trying to avoid all the other game leaks. Damn my autism for preventing me just tossing my first-game starter, otherwise I wouldn't care and just breed one once the maingame is over.

I don't even think about IVs and EVs, they're so min-maxy that they jsut don't matter on a casual playthrough. Whereas egg moves are a very tangible fuck you for not going out of your way to perfect your pokemon.

And especially on earlier gens, where a lot of obscure pokemon will have egg moves as their only fucking good moves.

Why do people do this? Does it really trigger you that badly if your feminine looking pokemon happens to be a male? It's not like animals or Pokemon are beholden to human concepts of femininity and masculinity.

EVs always existed. Your ignorance of that doesn't mean it changed anything for anyone not an ignorant moron about the games they're playing. Especially in a casual game for which they aren't even needed and you'll get them all via random battles anyway.

There, I fixed EVs. IVs should be removed. Natures should be able to be changed.

EVs only get autistic if you compete in VGC, since you need specific investments for survive/KO/etc certain things. if not, just 252 two stats and do your thing

i'm not phased by neither IV's nor EV's.
it doesn't take me more than a day to breed a good 5x31IV pokemon.
It doesn't take more than a couple hours to EV train properly, except those times you need wonky spreads of 65/113/fuckyou/255/12, you get the idea.
but it still feels rewarding to raise the perfect weapon.

IV breeding has been just fine post Gen4
Breeding for the perfect mons in gen4 would take closer to two weeks just to get to 4IV
And i'd often settle for that if the 5th useful stat wasn't below 26.
