I like all stages or rowlets line. losing features of the old design isn't a problem if what it became is still good, which decidueye is. if anything he got more interesting and unique. A example of that going wrong is oshawott, who's second stage is excellent but they took him in a radical new direction which was worse. if oshawotts final stage was better that wouldn't be an issue.
