Honestly why are you guys so autistic about starters? They’re just another regular Pokémon line at the end of the day and really no more special than anything else because the “muh first partner” effect has been lost as you get older

They are usually the strongest Water/Fire/Grass types you can get in the game. I have dropped starters through many playthroughs but you're autistic if you think there's no difference between using a starter and not using one.

On top of this they're flagship monsters that define the feel of a generation. They're indicative of the tone of the whole dex. If the starters are three chunky beasty monsters there's gonna be a lot of that in the dex, and if it's three goofy anthro animals wearing costumes there will be more of that. If you love the starters it's a good sign, and if you hate them it doesn't bode well for the rest of the dex.
