Typically generations with the most Pokemon get the best PR, as they get 5-8 new Pokemon announced every CoroCoro. The past f few generations had fewer Pokemon but had form changes to compensate; still if we factor those in, Gens 6 and 7 didn't have nearly as many Pokemon as Gen 5, all things considered. CoroCoro was also much more relevant back then, as it was the primary source of game news until the games were released. Now CoroCoro is just a small subset of the larger media release by TPC; while we did get a few leaks from CC, it was only because CC was intended to come out the same day as the press release in question, and it was only leaked in advance.
