To be honest, after Let's Go, I'm more excited for Gen 8. The only real problems with the game are the aim for a younger audience, focus on Gen 1, and Go mechanics shoehorned in. If they take everything else from the games, then Gen 8 will be pretty good.

I'm excited for gen 8 because I always at least enjoy new generations. I thought LGPE looked nice and I'm excited to see what they make on Switch when they're not constrained to a grid-based map and nostalgia. And even if the games don't end up amazing, I can at least enjoy the reveal season,

I really don't care if the games end up being mediocre, at least it's going to be new shit to speculate and get excited for. LGPBET was a dull experience since all it did was regurgitate shit we already knew. Like, yeah, I know Sabrina is the gym leader of Saffron. Yeah, I know about the St Anne. Even the new pokemon was utterly boring.

I'll entirely admit, I should've seen a response like this.

Being a little more fair, I'm more talking about smaller improvements. Having the box system always with you, walking with your pokemon and riding on them, pokemon in the overworld, etc. Hell, I'd honestly be fine with them keeping the catching system if it was purely optional (and preferably not default) Even the character models I like more then X and Y, so if they stick with this chibi-esque route, it'll at least be better then Gen 6 in that regard.
