I compared it to some real animals out of curiosity and it's about the same height as a w end black rhino. A manlet as a kaiju, but still pretty formidable as an animal. Actually wait, is that sensibly measured to the top of the head or shoulder, or retarded and measured from the top of the spikes?

I feel like anime sizes are most appropriate. Charizard and other dudes that can fly being big enough to carry most people. Nidoking should probably be like 6’-6’5” IRL I’d say. He’d have a lot of width and length too, but 4’ is too small. That’s retarded.

Pocket isn’t relative to its size, they’re “pocket monsters” in the sense that you can keep them in your pocket in their Pokeballs, or if you want to get meta, on your Game Boy (in your pocket). Nothing to do with how big the monsters are size-wise

Secondly, I legitimately and unironically pity anyone who doesn't headcanon sizes and lore in pokemon. Tyranitar and aggron for example shouldn't be anything else other than godzilla size.

Why? Because you say so? I never had a problem with that height. The Sugimori artwork in the OP doesn't look like it was supposed to be that big to me, more like a mean spiky rabbit thing.
