Oh fuck no. The "beat 8 gym leaders in a row and then the elite four and champion" just doesn't work in a movie. There's no tension, it's not a compelling story and why should I even give a fuck about what happens to the main character? The whole thing is literally devoid of anything you could call compelling in any way.

It is only conducive to being played like a sports movie, but that's only if they ignore TR entirely. If they want to focus on TR, though, they have to ignore the gym quest. Either way, it would have to block out a lot. It only makes sense as randomness, but even then, there's a massive amount of dissonance between the two unless played for laughs. I have never seen anyone do a decent pokemon parody, and I do not believe that is what they wish to accomplish.

Tim turning black was kind of a hotbed and only because the Detective Pikachu game was ancillary. Imaging a live adaptation of Kanto that depicts characters we know and love as something else entirely. Like making Terry Crews into Lt. Surge.

It looks accurate, but it doesn't look good or realistic.

It pretty much looks like what you'd get if you took Charizard's model and gave it a realistic texture.
But that's what makes it bad. It doesn't look like a real creature but an animatronic.
The benefit of making a live action movie is giving the impression that there are living beings that you could see in the real world. but this movie fails at that when half the pokemon have good cg, but look like a stuffed animal came to life and the other half look like something you'd see in a Smurf's movie.

That is actually my problem, I don't like how they went about charizards model, personally would prefer cartoony anatomy to this abomination. Just goes against appeal of pokemon. It might look jaring when there are humans and cartoony pokemon in same scene but dunno. Even if they went full on with realistic pokemon they would look completely different and not be recognizable. Who is this movie made for...? but hey they are making 3D animated movie so that might be more of my thing

Are these sources at all verified? Because this is just heresay and rumors, not an actual confirmation. Legendary is already investing a lot into DP, and it hasn't even proven itself as a concept yet. I have no doubts Legendary will try to license more Pokemon films if DP becomes a financial juggernaut, but right now it's way too early.

As much as I would like them to use the in game cries, it makes not sense for them to do it. This movie is going to be expensive and needs to hit a wide audience to make its money back and be a success. They need people to feel attached and understand whats going on screen so that becomes a LOT easier when each new Pokemon that most these movie-goers see says its name immediately and constantly like as well as being consistent with the anime which people are more likely to think of when the question of "how do Pokemon sound?" comes to mind.

If it is up to me, my Pokemon Cinematic Universe would be like this:

Phase 1:
1. Detective Pikachu
2. Pokemon Red/Blue movie
3. Mewtwo movie (not the same plot as Mewtwo Strikes Back but it will be something inspired by that)
4. Pokemon Gold/Silver movie
5. Team Rocket movie. This would be the first big movie of Phase 1 bringing together Red, Blue, Gold and Tim from Detective Pikachu. Think of it as the first Avengers movie in MCU's Phase 1.

So Team Rocket was disbanded in Gold and Silver, I would make this same situation happen in the Gold/Silver movie but then have Archer try to reestablish Team Rocket in the Sevii Islands, so kind of following Fire Red/Leaf Green's post game. So the Team Rocket movie would be about this and the plot would be capturing Celebi to turn back time and shit, then the protagonists have to stop them with the help of Mewtwo. Then the ending would foreshadow Rainbow Rocket but obviously the Rainbow Rocket movie won't happen until all the games have been featured. Rainbow Rocket can be like Infinity War desu.

I don't see the point of having a live action movie if the characters look like they're from a video game. It can work when they're supposed to look like they're from different worlds like Roger Rabbit.

This movie seems like it's trying to find a middle ground between both and failing both. They gave them all the same anatomy, but realistic textures, which clash hard (Charizard has pretty much the same anatomy as the games, I don't know what you're talking about).
And it really stands out when you see stuff like Emolga with heads bigger than their bodies.
But there are a few that seem to work perfectly. in the opening shot you see a Braviary and a Bouffalant in the background that look both photo-realistic and with the same proportions. Although, they're cast in shadow, so it might be hard to tell.
