>>37411128>>37411128Frankly, advertising during highly televised events like this is what Legendary and The Pokemon Company should do to get this movie out to the mainstream audience. Super Bowl would have been too inundated with movie trailers for Pokemon to get much attention. But NFC championships aren't as heavily competitive. (Of course, this is assuming we do get an ad for this.) Pokemon is popular enough for casuals and mainstream to watch; it's just a matter of getting the message out there. DBS Broly made 69 million with just a limited release and little to no marketing. The possibility is there for Detective Pikachu to do pretty well, but it all lies in the marketing to mainstream.

>>37411696If The Pokemon Company were smart, they'd reveal a new Pokemon during the movie, as a way to get people interested in Gen 8 and to turn more of the mainstream/casual audience over to the hardcore. But then again TPC is very protective of their IP and probably wouldn't reveal any of their new Pokemon in this film.
