>>37411846I think Let's Go will just get assimilated into the main line of Pokemon games. The arguably good features of Let's Go (overworld Pokemon, riding, GO compatibility etc.) get kept for the next Pokemon games and remakes but with many of the features like Abilities that they cut - remember that all Let's Go Pokemon come with an ability in their data, even Meltan, but it just doesn't do anything in this particular battle engine.
I just don't think LGPE are going to get a "sequel" in the standard sense, nor do I think they'll redo Johto. My bets are on Gen 8 coming soon basically being, for better or worse, a combination of LGPE's ideas and Sun/Moons willingness to break conventions (things like the lack of standard Gym Leader progression).
And the post-game will still be shit, obviously.
