Right, but the problem is that for a Living Dex, you need them all to be together. That's impossible with Meltan and Melmetal. I guess another way to phrase this would be to ask if it's possible to get a Living Dex at this point because of Meltan and Melmetal.

To clarify: do they count toward a Living Dex since they can't be included in it unless it's Kanto/Kanto-some Sinnoh only? Or is it just impossible until Gen. VIII?

Yeah, because they're going to be added when LGEP gets Bank connectivity, therefore are officially part of the National pokédex.

Given all the talking Masuda did about always finding ways to bring past 'mons forward to the next Gen in all the LGEP interviews he'd given pre-release (including referencing the outcry the transition of II to III caused when they were incompatible with each other), if not outright connecting to Bank like SM and the rest do, it'll be via pokétransfer like BW/VC games.

Mate, that's all the official word you'll get until VIII's reveal and the announcement Bank will launch on Switch. They have no need to connect LGEP to Bank yet as they confirmed LGEP and VII can't communicate with each other. It's why I'm now leaning to a pokétransfer app for Let's Go games to bring their pokémon into Bank.

I wouldn't worry about them right now, especially since they can't be banked and are stuck on both Go and LGPE. For national dex purposes, they don't matter as much due to being mythical, but later when we get into Gen 8, for living dex purposes, there will more than likely be an event for obtaining Meltan.

Fair enough. The reason why I ask is because the only Pokemon I'm missing for my Living Dex if they're not included is Shaymin(I'm working on it). If they are included, I'm missing Shaymin and Melmetal, which would be kinda tricky without LGPE, which I'm not really into.
