>>37418590It was a colossal waste of time. Very little character development, (still) poor animation, painfully stupid characters and events. The few memes that come out of BW are the only unintentionally funny parts. The rest is boring or irritating. Ash had no lasting accomplishments or experiences in BW aside from meeting Giovanni: his Unova Pokemon haven't been touched since, which cannot be said of his Hoenn/Johto teams which put in work during Sinnoh.
Iris, surprisingly, was one of the better parts. She's a different heroine than the May/Dawn mould and grows up over the course of the story. Her criticism of Ash was supposed to be ironic and charming, and eventually evolves into a sign of affection.
I think XY was ultimately worse on the franchise, but BW deserves everything negative heaped on it for starting the negative trends of the 2010+ Pokemon anime.
